Didar is a PhD student at the Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health at the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa and an East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellow. He earned BSS in Social Welfare and two Master’s degrees in Social Welfare and Gerontology, all from the University of Dhaka. His research interests are productive aging, public health, drug overdose, community development, human rights and policy practice. Didar has a combination of 8 years experience in teaching, research and community development and dedicated to use academic research to improve the living conditions of the elderly in Bangladesh. He has been working as an Assistant Professor of Social Studies (currently on sabbatical) at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET).
