Data to Wisdom is a new federal Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant within the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD) of the Hawai‘i Department of Health, which provides timely and effective mental health prevention, assessment and treatment services to children and youth, and their families, with emotional and behavioral challenges. Data to Wisdom uses a principled approach grounded in implementation science to spur meaningful and lasting changes, such as the adoption of evidence-based practice and data-driven decision-making in routine practice to improve quality within CAMHD and throughout the state’s child-serving system of care.
Data to Wisdom is also honored to lead the state’s newly formed Trauma-Informed Hawai’i Task Force, which was created by the Hawaiʻi State Legislature with the passage of House Bill 1322 this year. The task force will develop recommendations for the state’s child-serving agencies and community organizations to become collectively more trauma-informed to better serve Hawai’i’s families, and improve the health and resiliency of our island communities.
